Caveats and Gotchas

Vietnam is not a BYOIP location. Do not plan Ho Chi Minh City into a prefix move.
BGP sessions receive a default route only.
ROA objects must match the prefix lengths you announce. A covering ROA for a shorter length is not described as enough.
Older pages described this program as paused from 29 March 2025. Current Onidel documentation describes it as active. This page does not state a resumption date.

Step-by-Step BYOIP Process

Step 1

Open a ticket for the location.

This is a manual setup, not a portal import.

Step 2

Return the signed LOA and the exact-match ROAs.

Step 3

Pay the invoice.

Onidel quotes generally five business days, and up to two weeks. That is not a guaranteed SLA.

Step 4

Later changes to an advertised prefix or an IP filter are a new request at the same setup price.
