Step-by-Step BYOIP Process
Step 1
Initial submission
contact support with prefix details, your ASN, desired announcement locations, and whether NetActuate (AS 13830) or your own ASN will originate the prefix.
Step 2
Submit a signed Letter of Authorization on organizational letterhead specifying the IP prefix(es) being authorized and authorization for NetActuate (AS 13830) to announce the prefix(es), with a date range, contact info, and signature.
Step 3
Set up an RPKI ROA (recommended) specifying your prefix, origin ASN, and matching max length.
Step 4
NetActuate configures routers, the customer establishes BGP sessions, and both parties verify announcements using looking glasses and BGP viewers.
Step 5
Go live
update DNS records, migrate traffic, and monitor for 24-48 hours.
Cost and Limitations

Troubleshooting & Gotchas
