BlackHOST BYOIP Integration Overview
Location
BlackHOST (black.host) supports Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) for customers who need to use their own IPv4/IPv6 address space on BlackHOST-hosted services. BlackHOST can announce (BGP-originate) your prefix either under their ASN (AS12989) or your ASN, enabling you to keep IP reputation/allowlists consistent while moving workloads to BlackHOST shared/WordPress hosting, VPS, or dedicated servers.

BYOIP Capabilities
- Prefix announcement options: BlackHOST can announce your prefix under AS12989 or under your ASN.
- Supported platforms: BYOIP can be used with Shared/WordPress, VPS, and Dedicated services.
- Multi-location footprint: BlackHOST publishes multiple USA/EU locations and provides a public looking glass for testing (ping, traceroute/mtr, rDNS lookup, speedtest); locations support IPv6.
Requirements and Documentation
- IRR records: Your IRR objects must be up to date and accurate for the subnets being announced.
- Letter of Authorization (LOA): You must provide a signed LOA authorizing BlackHOST and its upstream/transit providers to route your prefix (BlackHOST provides an LOA template). LOA expectations include company letterhead and a “wet” signature; BlackHOST requests a color PDF scan at 300dpi+.
- ROA / RPKI: Not stated as a formal BYOIP requirement in BlackHOST’s BYOIP documentation. (Recommended best practice: publish ROAs for the origin ASN you intend to use.)
Onboarding Process (High-Level)
Pricing and Fees
BlackHOST states there are no recurring/monthly BYOIP fees. They note a one-time, non-refundable fee applies for document validation/processing and prefix announcement, with pricing handled case-by-case via Sales.
Support and Contacts
- Support channel: Ticket-based onboarding and guidance via the BlackHOST client area support form.
- What to include in the ticket: prefix(es), desired origin ASN (AS12989 vs your ASN), IRR status, and the signed LOA PDF.
Notes
Name collision: “BlackHOST” for BYOIP in this entry refers to black.host (Black HOST Ltd / AS12989). A separate “blackhost.com” entity exists and should be treated as a different provider unless explicitly confirmed.
